The beautiful Rio de Janeiro continues to provide memorable challenges for triathletes in 2024. Besides the privileged view of famous sceneries such as Sugar Loaf, Christ the Redeemer, the new route is much closer to the local fans, an unforgettable experience for all participants.
The 2026 edition of the IRONMAN 70.3 Rio de Janeiro triathlon will qualify athletes for the 2027 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship race.
In one of the most hotly contested races in recent years, Argentine athlete Luciano Taccone — winner of the IRONMAN Brazil in June — confirmed his favoritism in the men’s division, being the first to cross the finish line at Marina da Glória with a time of 3:31:24. In the women’s race, French athlete Julie Iemmolo, IRONMAN record holder in her country, surprised everyone by winning in her debut at the event, clocking 4:01:23.
A total of 80 additional slots will be made available per race, with early registration priority for Nubank Ultravioleta clients before opening to the general public.
