The 2024 edition of the Itaú BBA IRONMAN 70.3 Rio de Janeiro triathlon will qualify athletes for the 2025 VinFast IRONMAN® 70.3® World Championship race.
In one of the most hotly contested races in recent years, Argentine athlete Luciano Taccone — winner of the Itaú BBA IRONMAN Brazil in June — confirmed his favoritism in the men’s division, being the first to cross the finish line at Marina da Glória with a time of 3:31:24. In the women’s race, French athlete Julie Iemmolo, IRONMAN record holder in her country, surprised everyone by winning in her debut at the event, clocking 4:01:23.
