MEETING POINT – IRACEMA BEACH

One of the main beaches in the capital of Ceará, Iracema Beach will be the center of the most exciting moments of the race: Start, transition and finish!

We suggest parking on the streets near the Iracema Guardian Statue, Iracema Beach Landfill and Meirelles neighborhood boardwalk. On Sunday, the day of the race, as there will be several traffic restrictions, especially on Beira Mar Avenue, we recommend that you leave early and, preferably, opt for ride-hailing or taxis, to minimize possible inconveniences.

TIME EXPECTATION

The first athletes should be leaving the for the cycling portion at 6:10 AM. The transition from cycling to running will be at 8 AM. The arrival of the first placed athletes is expected from 10 am.

We suggest download the IRONMAN TRACKER app adding the Itaú BBA IRONMAN BRAZIL event (available on Saturday, 18th). There you can follow your favorite athletes by their numbers. You can add more than one, if you want.

WHERE TO WATCH

The Meileres Boardwalk will be the busiest area of the race, where spectators can view the first and final meters of the cycling and running segments.

Many TriClubs set up their tents in this place, cheering a lot and sending good vibes to our IRONMEN and WOMEN.

GOLDEN TIPS

Remember that Itaú BBA IRONMAN 70.3 Fortaleza is an outdoor event, so it’s better to be prepare for all kind of weather conditions: wear comfortable clothes, bring a hat and sunglasses, and don’t forget the sunscreen and a water bottle! São Paulo is also known as the land of drizzle (Terra da Garoa), so we also suggest taking a jacket and umbrella with you.

What to do while your athlete is competing

Take a walk at IRONMAN Village. This area offers different stores. Schedule:

– Thursday (August 22nd) from 02 PM to 07 PM

– Friday (August 23rd) from 09 AM to 07 PM

– Saturday (August 24th) from 08:30 AM to 07 PM

– Sunday (August 25th) from 07 AM to 05:30 PM

Futuro Beach

One of the most visited places in the city, due to the large number of bars, restaurants, and beach huts, Futuro Beach has been completely revitalized, featuring new landscaping and infrastructure for tourists. There’s a tradition of crab tasting, as well as several forró and comedy shows at night.

Dragão do Mar Center for Art and Culture

This is a cultural complex that includes museums, theaters, movie theaters, an auditorium, a library, and a planetarium. It is the perfect place to visit for those who appreciate art and want to delve deeper into the richness of Ceará’s culture. With coffee shops, bars, restaurants, and craft shops in the surrounding area, visitors can enjoy a fully diverse and inclusive experience at any time of day.

Beach Park

Considered the largest water park in Latin America, it is guaranteed fun, especially for children! Located just 22 km from Fortaleza, the park is also situated on Porto das Dunas Beach, a place with white sand, blue skies, and plenty of tranquility. You can relax, take a buggy ride through the dunes, or even visit the famous Vila Azul do Mar, a great place to shop.

Canoa Quebrada

This beach, located in Aracati, approximately 165 km from Fortaleza, is known for its colorful cliffs and calm waters. It is also a great place to practice various water activities, such as kitesurfing and paragliding, as well as enjoy raft rides. Fun fact: the place was discovered by filmmakers from the Nouvelle Vague, a French movement that changed the course of cinema in the 1960s.
