Itaú BBA IRONMAN 70.3 Maceió has been known as one of the most attractive destinations for Brazilian and foreign athletes. In its last edition, in 2022, representatives from 16 countries showed all their dedication and passion for triathlon.
Argentinian Emmanuel Iódice came out on top in the duel with José Belarmino, but he made a point of highlighting that he had beaten an idol. He completed the course of 1.9 km swimming, 90.1 km cycling, and 21.1 km running with a time of 4h02min19, compared to the Brazilian’s 4h06min40. Nathan Ciarlo, also from Brazil, rounded out the overall podium with a time of 4h10min44. Among the women, Brazil dominated the podium. The victory went to São Paulo native Ana Laura Franzini, who finished the race with a time of 4h33min48, followed by Rio de Janeiro athlete Luiza Pais da Costa, with 4h42min28, and Bahian triathlete Fernanda Arantes Correa, with 4h46min18.
